I-93 cuts the length of town, and Exits 8 through 11 — Granite Ave, Adams St, Randolph Ave — feed us steady highway work: shoulder blowouts, merge-lane crunches, dead batteries a few feet from traffic. East Milton Square sits on the deck over the Expressway, so we plan where the flatbed goes before we roll.
The Blue Hills side is a different job. Route 138 and the reservation roads are steep, wooded, and they ice early. Slide-offs and winch-outs are a normal winter week. Neponset Valley Parkway and Granite Avenue take on water fast in heavy rain. Long colonial driveways in Milton Village and Brush Hill mean backing in, which beats chewing up the lawn.

Yes. Give dispatch the exit number and your direction of travel, and stay belted in the car if the shoulder is narrow.
My car slid off a reservation road onto soft ground. Do I need a special truck?
A winch-out usually handles it. If it's nose-down in a ditch or a wheel's damaged, we'll bring the flatbed instead.
